About Kitcho process
To create Kitcho, barrel sections were sent to Kyoto for painting, then returned to Italy, where Montegrappa’s lost wax casting studio had prepared a suitable cap, grip section and piston drive from sterling silver. Vermeil detailing highlight references to bamboo, folding fans and vortices: further symbols of success and prosperity. Made exclusively for fountain pen enthusiasts, the organic, traditional character of the Kitcho conceals a thoroughly modern mechanical feature that draws ink through a two-tone 18-karat gold nib.
