Design for greater well-being
Dr Patrik Künzler followed in the footsteps of Nobel Prize winner Susumu Tonegawa and studied an area of medicine known as the "limbic system" at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The term describes the part of the brain responsible for emotional reactions, learning and memory recall. He was excited by the idea of devising devices that could improve human well-being, happiness and brain performance - all based on scientific learning about the limbic system.
