The magic of porcelain

"Somehow I believe that every vessel created by my hands is meant for a special person. For someone who it fits perfectly and who really appreciates and enjoys the design. I believe in magic.", stated Magdalena when we talked to her about her ambitions and goals. In her work, Magdalena combines her many years of experience as a sculptor and interior designer. The way she makes the vessels is unique and distinctive in the world of porcelain because they are not cast but shaped by hand only.

Objects with soul

Alternating between functional porcelain and ceramic sculptures, all of Magdalena's works are intended for people who want to surround themselves with things that have a soul and mean something to them. The objects are soft, rounded, even organic. They fit perfectly in the hand. It is impossible to create two things that are the same, because each is an artistic entity in its own right, but together they form a meaningful set. The 24-carat gold ornamentation is like icing on the cake and turns the whole thing into a little work of utility art.

What goes around ...

Magdalena graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1999 with a diploma thesis in sculpture, but professionally focused on interior design for the next 20 years. The more time passed and the longer her career lasted, the more she realised that she had to pursue her passion for sculpture again.

Magdalena listened to her calling, ended her career in industry and opened her studio in the centre of Warsaw, where she still works today. After she had decided to follow her new path and found her studio, invitations to exhibitions in other European countries quickly followed. By 2022 Magdalena was awarded with the Grand Prix of the St. Dominic's Fair which is one of the largest in Europe for art and culture.

... comes around.

"I am a sculptor by education, an interior designer by profession, and my passion is being a ceramist.", Magdalena sums it up. The desire to search and experiment led her to combine sculptural fireclay with delicate porcelain. And the combination of sculpture with the functionality of the interior led to the creation of utilitarian forms that can only be shaped by hand.

Magdalena's handmade objects require time, sensitivity and patience. It is a long process focused on fine-tuning a detail, the right shape or the decoration of a vessel. Each shape created is unique and each object is an individual approach and statement.
