Gift wrapped in a presentation box and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and care instructions, your bespoke backgammon board, chess board or even a beautifully made poker set will be sent to its final destination anywhere in the world.

The spark from childhood days that became art

Alexandra fell in love with backgammon from the very first moment her step-grandfather introduced her to the game in the back streets of Cairo. Captivated by the rattle of dice on wooden crates that signaled the start of a game, she quickly became enchanted by the inherent poetry of proportion of backgammon. “I love how my creations are both beautiful objects full of detail and depth and games that bring people together to share joy and laughter.”, says the artist, who is fascinated by the idea that board games have a vocabulary that transcends language and culture.

From London to the world

Upon graduating from art school, she designed her first backgammon boards, hand painting the interiors with naturalistic artworks that quickly became her signature.
In 2010, she realised her dream and opened her first design studio in London.
Surrounded by a myriad of designs that have found homes across the globe, the
studio is the perfect introduction to the captivating world of Alexandra Llewellyn and
a welcoming space in which to discuss private commissions with clients in detail.
